About the Rosary and the Mysteries of the Rosary

The rosary is a special ancient prayer dating back to the eleventh century , which will lead you to Christ through meditations on the Miraculous events of his life  called "Mysteries".

Countless saints have loved and Prayed the Rosary. This beautiful meditation comes  from the gospels:
The Lords prayer: "Our father who art in heaven..."  Mt 6,9-13
The Angel Gabriel's  salutation; 'Hail Mary Full of Grace the lord is with thee...."  Lk 1:28 and Elizabeth's greeting  "blessed art thou among women...."Lk 1:43

Each decade  (ten Hail Mary's)  is prayed verbally, however the real depth of the prayer is internal meditation on the announced scriptural event in the life of Christ (called a mystery). It is actually the meditation on these sacred mysteries which brings the fullness of deep contemplative prayer. Thus the rosary  occupies mind,  body, and soul. For this reason, the rosary is a perfect form of prayer.

The mysteries of the rosary are grouped into four sections. Each mystery is a direct passage from the New Testament.
